The Wheeling Park High School Hi-Y Club on Wednesday reached out to a pair of Ohio County Schools families to show them that they care.

The Patriot Hi-Y students donated $500 to the family of Middle Creek Elementary School student Chloe Pattison and $500 to the family of Elm Grove Elementary School student Emanuel Williams. Pattison was a third-grade student at Middle Creek when she died unexpectedly in August during a softball game. Williams died in June after being swept away in the waters of Big Wheeling Creek. He was entering second grade at Elm Grove Elementary School.

The Hi-Y Clubs are U.S. social clubs for middle and high school boys and girls that are affiliated with the YMCA.
