OCS Communication Information
Ohio County Schools utilizes several avenues to help parents, students, staff, and the community stay informed. Below you will find information about the programs used to disseminate information.
School Messenger is a school notification software utilized by OCS to provide information to students, parents, and staff. Information ranging from school events, information, closing, delays, and emergency information is sent to users in text (SMS), email, and phone calls. Parents and staff are automatically signed up for the service when they enroll a student in OCS or become an employee.
Users now have the ability to control their notification preferences using the School Messenger smartphone app or the online portal. Click the following link to view a document that explains how to setup your account and preferences.
**IMPORTANT: You must have a current email address setup within your student's electronic file at their school. If you have not added a valid email or contact information to your student's record please contact your school.**
Schoology is Ohio County's Learning Management System. The site is used to not only provide online coursework and grade viewing but also communicate information and provide school calendars. Parents and students can log on to the website (https://ohiocounty.schoology.com) or download the Schoology Smartphone app to access information.
If you are a parent or guardian of an OCS student and do not have access to Schoology, please contact your school. The school can provide you with an access code that will allow you to set up your OCS Schoology account. Click the link below for parent account instructions.
Social media sites are used to inform followers about achievement updates, student happenings, school events, closings, delays, and emergency information. Keep an eye on the OCS social media sites as you never know when your student will appear or be in a featured article.
