Amy Yost has been selected as the 2021-2022 Warwood Elementary School Teacher of the Year.
Yost joined Ohio County Schools in 2013 when she was hired as an early childhood/career education teacher at Wheeling Park High School. She was hired as a first-grade teacher at Warwood at the start of the 2013-2014 school year.
Warwood School Principal Joey Subasic said Yost’s recognition as the school’s teacher of the year is well deserved. He said Yost is a passionate educator.
“Mrs. Yost is a creative, caring, dedicated educator, and her innovative teaching has led to successful outcomes for her first graders,” Subasic said. “She collaborates with other staff members and continually works to provide a quality learning environment for her students.”
Yost said she appreciates her students and staff members, and she was thrilled to be named as Warwood Elementary School Teacher of the Year.
“I love my job, and I’m so lucky to be teaching at the school that helped shape my love of learning,” Yost said. “Not everyone gets to spend every day working with their favorite first graders, but I do. To earn a recognition such as this is just icing on the cake.”
