A Night to Shine is in its 10th year nationwide and in its 9th year sponsored by Bowman United Methodist Church. Today, nearly a dozen Wheeling Park High School students received training on how to volunteer at this amazing event.
Sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, A Night to Shine offers a prom experience for people with special needs. This event, servicing approximately 250 guests across the Ohio Valley, is made possible with help from a multitude of volunteers. These volunteer tasks and opportunities might include activities teams, hair and make up, paparazzi, and working within a buddy system, ensuring each guest has a buddy for the duration of the event.
Molly, a sophomore, states, “I’m really growing in my faith, and this is a way to serve in action.”
Layce, a junior, states, “It’s really important to me to help my community. I love that I have the chance to do that with this amazing program.”
A Night to Shine will be held on Friday, February 9th, at the Moundsville Training Center. Thank you WPHS students for volunteering for such an important event!
