Loh
In Ohio County, we love to recognize our amazing alumni through #AlumniHighlight features.

Today’s feature focuses on an alumna from both Triadelphia Middle School and Wheeling Park High School.

Emily Loh was a graduate of the class of 2019, and while at Wheeling Park, she was involved in choir, band, orchestra, the Park Players, the Judicial Scholars program, and the National Honor Society.

“My education and experiences at TMS and WPHS have played a huge part in where I am now, and I thank all of my teachers for preparing me for college and the real world! In particular, taking chemistry with Mrs. Redilla is really what inspired me to pursue forensic chemistry at West Virginia University. I also owe a lot of where I am to all of the teachers in the music and theater departments. Music is such an important part of my life, and they inspired me to embrace my love for the arts as well as for science.”

Loh adds, “Since starting my studies at WVU, I've had a lot of really great opportunities. As a member of the WVU Fife and Drum ensemble, I traveled to Switzerland to experience the Fasnacht Festival in Basel. I also completed a summer internship with the Fairfax County Police Department in their crime scene unit. Most recently, I graduated from WVU with a bachelor's degree in Forensic Chemistry with minors in World Music and Flute Performance. I was also selected as a WVU Foundations Outstanding Senior and graduated summa cum laude from the Honors Foundations program. Next, I am hoping to pursue my master's degree in Wildlife Forensics and Conservation!”

Thank you Emily.  It’s so awesome that you’ve been able to follow ALL your passions!  Do you have a unique alumni story?  Reach out to wphsalumniwv@wphs.ohio.k12.wv.us to share your story, and stay tuned for more alumni features!
