Lois Rutter has been selected as the 2021-2022 Bethlehem Elementary School Service Personnel Employee of the Year.
Rutter is the secretary at Bethlehem, and she has been employed with Ohio County Schools since 2012. She began her tenure in the school system as the secretary at Woodsdale Elementary School before moving on to become the secretary at Bethlehem at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year. Prior to serving full-time, she was a substitute secretary at several schools in the Ohio County system.
Bethlehem Elementary School Principal Stacy Dietz said Rutter is retiring at the end of the current school year. Dietz noted that the two of them previously worked together at Woodsdale Elementary School. She said Rutter is an excellent staff member and a true professional who is able to manage a number of responsibilities.
“I first met Mrs. Rutter as a teacher at Woodsdale when she was our secretary and then later, as her administrator (at Bethlehem),” Dietz said. “She is very dependable and makes sure everything is in place for the school to run smoothly. Lois jumps in whenever needed. She is a nurse, a counselor and everything in between. She will be missed and very hard to replace.”
