Wheeling Sleepout 2022

Youth Services System, Inc. (YSS) will soon hold a fun event to benefit an important cause.

The Wheeling SleepOut will be held Nov. 4th at the Miracle League Field at 567 Community St., Wheeling. The event features the "Boxed-In Design Contest" in which teams get creative in building livable structures in which they can spend the night. The Wheeling SleepOut encourages school-age youth to help out someone they may know who is living on the streets. It is an effort to help those in need build confidence and security today, tomorrow and every day.

The Wheeling SleepOut helps to fund the YSS Transitional Living Program, which provides housing, life skills and more for youth ages 17-21 who are experiencing homelessness, have aged out of the Foster Care System or are otherwise without shelter and support.

Winners will be selected in three categories, and prizes will be awarded throughout the evening. There will be four local guest judges, and there will be food, cold/hot drinks, warming stations, games, door prizes, a photo booth, a DJ and cornhole.

Registration and fundraising for the event can be done online. There is a $25 registration fee for those attending the event in-person. The fee covers your t-shirt, food and drinks for the evening. The Boxed-In Design Contest will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Nov. 4th. Volunteers for the event are still needed. Full details can be found at: https://www.youthservicessystem.org/donate/2022-wheeling-sleepout/769
