This week, we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week. While our teachers do the hard work of planning, designing and leading instruction, we also recognize the important role of all our staff in building a school culture focused on students. Help us celebrate the staff! On Monday, students are encourages to bring a flower - whether a real flower, a drawing or a craft - for their teachers; on Tuesday, students are encouraged to bring a note or drawing; on Thursday, students are encouraged to wear their homeroom teachers favorite color - Ms. Beth, light blue; Mrs. Kuhns, blue; Mrs. Kiedaisch, blue; Mrs. Franke, pink; Mrs. Wade, purple; Ms. Iverson, turquoise; Mrs. Perry, yellow; Mrs. Schmitt, hot pink; Ms. Craig, teal; Ms. Hohman, navy blue and green; Ms. Anderson, green; Mrs. Kucera, sage green. Our PTA is also appreciating our staff throughout the week with gifts, donuts and lunch.
In addition to Teacher Appreciation Week, it is a big week for our 3rd-5th graders. They will begin the General Summative Assessment on Wednesday. The GSA is an opportunity for students to show what they know. There are always debates about whether or not we should give these standardized assessments to students. Regardless of how you feel, please remind your children that they are smart and capable and doing their best is what matters the most! Help us by having your children go to bed on time and eat a good breakfast - at school or at home. Also, we'd love if you can send in mints or jolly ranchers that can provide that little boost to answer one more question!
Finally, don't miss our Spring into Summer Dance this Friday from 6:00-7:30! Raffle baskets and a 50/50 are also happening. You can purchase tickets online.
