Grant Awards
“I think West Virginians are precious because we know how to appreciate others,” Governor Justice stated this afternoon while visiting Moundsville’s Grave Creek Mound.  Justice showed his appreciation for the arts proving it was a great day for art, culture, and history as well as Ohio County Schools!  Justice awarded a multitude of grants to a wide variety of organizations.

With the help of West Virginia’s Department of Arts, Culture, and History Director, Jenna Green, and curator, Randall Reid-Smith, as well as Ohio Valley’s own Zachary Abraham and Danielle McCracken,Ohio County Schools received four grants today!

Triadelphia Middle School and Warwood School received a combined $80,000 from VH1’s Save The Music Foundation.  This program allows for growth of middle school music departments through new instruments and materials!

Ohio County Board of Education received $10,000 allotted to Wheeling Park’s PAC to allow for various upgrades.

Wheeling Park High School also received $2,000 towards their recent “Gateway to the West” Robotics Signature Event.

Grants like these enable #ArtsinOCS to continue thriving.  We are thankful to Governor Justice (and Babydog) for their support!

Justice stated in his closing, “As long as God gives me breath, I’ll be in your corner.”  Thank you, Governor!
