Wilson
In Ohio County, we love to recognize our amazing alumni through #AlumniHighlight features.

Today’s feature focuses on an alumna from Steenrod Elementary School PTA, Wheeling, WV ,Triadelphia Middle School , and Wheeling Park High School

Casey Wilson is a 2014 graduate of WPHS.  During his time as a student, Wilson played lacrosse, swam, ran cross country, and was on the Science Bowl team.

“I’d say the biggest impact from OCS have been experiences from being on student teams. Since graduation from Park, my accomplishments have rarely been purely individual efforts. Instead, they’ve come through working on teams with people sharing a common goal. Long lacrosse practices or early mornings studying for the science bowl ended up being great preparation for being a team player.”

Since graduating, Casey has gone on to complete two BS degrees from West Virginia University in both aerospace and mechanical engineering.  He also obtained a MS in aerospace engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.  Wilson is currently working on his PhD in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech while working full time.

And Wilson’s life today? “I’m living in the LA area working at SpaceX. At SpaceX, I work on the Raptor engine, which powers the Starship rocket. Among other things, Starship will land humans on the moon for the first time since the Apollo program in the next few years.”

Outside of work, Wilson enjoys hiking, backpacking, camping, and skiing.
We are so excited to continue watching where your journey takes you, Casey!
