Palma
We love to recognize our #AwesomeAlumni through #AlumniSpotlights.  Today’s alumni spotlight is making huge waves in the tech world.  Say “Hello” to class of 2006 graduate, Anthony Palma.

Palma attended Woodsdale Elementary School, Triadelphia Middle School, and Wheeling Park High School.

Palma is proof that at Wheeling Park, you can excel in both athletics and arts: he was the captain of both the football and track teams, and a state champion shuttle hurdler in 2006.  Palma was also lead trombone in jazz band and active in band and orchestra.

“OCS and WPHS were tremendous support systems to me both personally and academically as I navigated the myriad of career paths I had in front of me based on my strengths and weaknesses. The teachers, staff, and coaches provided incredible guidance to me as I grew up and figured out what I wanted to pursue with my life. They also set me academically on a track where I graduated from West Virginia University with both Computer Science and Computer Engineering degrees plus a minor in Mathematics in just four years thanks to AP courses and a solid knowledge foundation,” Palma states.

Palma went on to Carnegie Mellon University and earned his MS in Entertainment Technology which launched him into his career in the video game industry today.

Today, Palma resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife Katy and their two dogs. “I am the Head of Gaming Partnerships at Mysten Labs, a blockchain technology firm, where I work with some of the biggest companies in the video game industry to help them build better games using our technology. I have served as a serial entrepreneur in the past, and as a Partner at a $1 Billion venture capital firm investing in video games prior to Mysten Labs. I advise several technology and gaming startups to help give back to entrepreneurs when I can be helpful.”
