Alvarado
Rachel Alvarado is well known for her namesake restaurant, a popular (and delicious) breakfast and brunch spot, Rachel’s on 16th.  Rachel is also a proud OCS alumni.  Read on to learn more about Rachel’s story.

Alvarado graduated from Wheeling Park High School as Rachel Williams in 2006.  She was active in the music department, particularly in chorus, and loved being in the student section.  “You could find me at all games cheering on the boys and the girls,” states Alvarado. Prior to being a Patriot, she attended both Elm Grove Elementary and Bridge Street Middle School.

“Wheeling Park High School is a huge memory in my life.  It helped me navigate growing up and I felt prepared for the real world because of the guidance department,” states Alvarado.

After high school, Alvarado took classes and worked in a variety of career fields before starting her family.  She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019, the same year her family opened Rachel’s on 16th.  “Looking back…it was a year,” Alvarado explains before adding she rang the bell in July of 2019 and recently celebrated her 5 year remission mark.

“As a whole, Park set me up for where I am today.  It helped me understand the real world, and taught us how to find, keep, and manage our jobs.”
