A couple in prom gear
In Ohio County Schools, we love an #AlumniSpotlight! Say “Hello!” to two people changing the restaurant game in our community, Wheeling Park High School’s Class of 2003 Adam Rose and Class of 2005 Brittany Rose (maiden name Kosky).

During her time at Park, Brittany played volleyball freshman year and was on the yearbook committee and wrote for the Park Press.

Adam made the JV baseball team as a freshman, but unfortunately blew his knee out at the beginning of the season.  He went on to take various culinary classes at Park.

“I had a great experience as an OCS student. During my time at Wheeling Middle School, I really enjoyed my school counselor which is what led me to become a school counselor myself. I graduated from Marshall University with a BA degree in Counseling and a MA in School Counseling, I worked in the southern part of the state for five years but always hoped I would find my way back to Wheeling and work for OCS,” Brittany states.  She’s been the school counselor at Bridge Street Middle School since 2017.

Adam also attended Marshall and studied Business and Sports Marketing. He spent 15 years working in security before deciding to follow a new path: In September of 2023 he decided to open up a bar/restaurant in the Wheeling area. “After 8 months of restoring the former McGovern's bar, we opened The Rose Garden in April of 2024. We will be celebrating our one-year anniversary on May 3, 2025,” Adam states.

In just one year of business, The Rose Garden has hosted several private events, live music, trivia nights, karaoke nights and expanded their menu. They also hostWPHS high school reunion events, including the upcoming 20th year reunion at the end of summer.

Adam operates full time at the restaurant while Brittany handles graphic design and the books in her spare time.

Check them out during Junior prom AND nearly two decades later after finalizing their menu!
