In Ohio County Schools, we love to hear from our alumni!

Say "Hello!" to McKenna!

McKenna attended Steenrod Elementary, Triadelphia Middle School, and Wheeling Park High School before recently graduating with a Bachelor of Science in both Neuroscience and Psychology.

"Attending Ohio County Schools helped me build the confidence I needed to succeed. I was given many opportunities to explore my interests and gain experience. I never felt constricted to one box--I was able to play the violin in the WPHS orchestra while also being challenged in my favorite class, AP Chemistry. Taking numerous AP courses pushed me academically and set me ahead when I got to college. That strong foundation prepared me for higher education and gave me the confidence in my skills to pursue more ambitious goals--like the Fulbright Scholarship, which is a prestigious program that promotes strong relationships between the United States and other countries around the world."

McKenna is about to go global in her pursuits:
"I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Honors College in December 2024, and I am currently preparing to move to Montenegro in August. As a Fulbright Award recipient, I will spend ten months teaching English at a local high school in the country's capital and immersing myself in the community. I am proud to represent West Virginia, share my roots, and learn from the culture and people of Montenegro."

McKenna, we wish you an AMAZING experience in your upcoming endeavors.
