Cindy Bane has been selected as the 2021-2022 Transportation Department Service Personnel Employee of the Year.
Bane is the Transportation Department supervisor/secretary. She was hired in 1996 as the student services secretary, and she served in the that role until 2006. She then became the human resources secretary and filled that position until 2014 when she became the transportation secretary. She has since been named as the transportation supervisor.
Ohio County Schools Manager of Operations David Crumm said Bane is a dedicated staff member who has the ability to manage multiple important tasks.
“Throughout the pandemic and with the road construction going on throughout the county, Cindy has done a fantastic job working out routes, scheduling substitutes, getting transportation figured out for the changing needs of our county daily and does so with a smile on her face every day,” Crumm said. “Her day starts early and runs late. She is a great team player, and she does whatever is necessary to make sure no one goes without a ride.”
Bane said it is an honor to be recognized as the Transportation Department Service Personnel Employee of the Year.
“Although my position can be stressful at times, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” she said. “I’m am thankful to Ohio County Schools for giving me the opportunity to be the supervisor of transportation. I am grateful for our group of drivers aides and mechanics that help us to keep transportation running smoothly.”
