Congratulations to Wheeling Park High School teacher Dionne Cox on earning the Wheeling NAACP “Freedom Fund Community Award.” Wheeling NAACP President Darryl Clausell said Mrs. Cox was selected for the recognition based on her achievements as an educator who portrays the organization’s theme "Power With Purpose and Pearls."
“Her powerful educational knowledge and Christian experience reflects her purpose and refines her as a pearl of wisdom,” Mr. Clausell said.
Cox has been a special education teacher at Wheeling Park High School since 2007. Wheeling Park High School teacher Morgan Bayes said Cox is well respected by her peers and loved by her students.
“Not only is she a dedicated educator, but she strongly advocates for our students, as well as teaches them to advocate for themselves,” Bayes said.
