Students
This course is designed to provide both an overview of the field of early childhood education (ECE) and an introduction to child development. Topics include ECE career paths, early childhood programs, regulatory and ethical requirements, physical development in early childhood years, social emotional development in early childhood year, cognitive development in early childhood years, language development in early childhood years, and an integrated approach to child development. Students will be involved in the ECE workplace as possible. Students are encouraged to become active members of a student organization such as FCCLA or Educators Rising. Credit may be earned through the EDGE (Earn a Degree, Graduate Early) program.
